At the beginning of 2018 after almost six years with the same photo hosting website company I decided to move on and try to find a better alternative. Despite completing a relaunch with an alternative provider I also kept the original site running. I am pleased I did because whilst there were many aspects of the new site that I really liked there were others that I didn’t so I reverted back to the original site.

Now a further eighteen months on I have again been reviewing the alternatives. When the annual hosting renewal fee is due it focuses your mind as to whether you want to stay with the same company for a further year and the decision was that I didn’t. There seemed to be very little development work being carried out behind the scenes to bring new and improved features which other companies seem to update on a regular basis.

So decision made here is the new site but still at www.britishlandscapesphotography.co.uk

The photo hosting part of the site uses SmugMug and the Blog is through WordPress. If anyone wants to take advantage of using SmugMug just follow the link above where you will be able to sign up for a 14-day trial and if you subsequently subscribe you will receive a 20% discount. For clarity, I also will receive a 20% credit on my account for promoting the company. The use of WordPress can be free of charge but you do have to provide your own hosting which as a cost.

The website is HTTP Secure. I won’t bore you with all the technicalities of this but it simply means any personal information that you may share with the site is encrypted and therefore more secure, including when making purchases.

Speaking of purchases I am now offering more print products than before.  There are still prints and canvases but I have now added acrylic, metal prints and desk art all of which can be printed with any photo of your choice from the many available in the Galleries and Print Store.  The purchasing is simplified and faster.  Why not give it a try and I hope that you agree.

One of the downsides to moving has been that I have had to manually transfer over 200 blog posts which as taken weeks of “copying and pasting”, watermarking etc but they are now all here and if you are a new visitor it means that if you wish you can catch up on my photographic journey over the last ten years.  I would welcome you all making my effort worthwhile by taking a look at the past.

Your comments on any of the posts are most welcome including any feedback you may have on this new site.

I am sure there any many advantages that I have yet to discover but hopefully you will find visiting this site as pleasurable as the last.

I will be regularly having offers available on various print products in the coming weeks and months.  Subscribe to the Newsletter to get full details of any offers.

I look forward to welcoming both existing and new visitors to join me as my photographic journey around the landscapes of the British Isles continues.
